That's because there isn't one. The long term survival world portal is behind the entrance to STS.

So as some have noticed, we did finally get the map expansion. As part of that, we're now allowing the expansion of regions to cover entire town areas for those wishing for that. Not sure when, but hopefully soon, we'll get a method to obtain blocks/items not currently available (the various stonebricks from Strongholds, Nether stuff, etc.). I believe the way it will be implemented is via purchase so I would suggest voting daily. Pricing should be pretty reasonable, since after all, it will be the only way to obtain them.

So that means that nether isn't going to be opened? That's a pity.
And do you know anything about the redstone update concerning the server?

Anyway the shop idea is quite cool.

Half the fun of the nether is actually going in. Buying glowstone and blaze rods is not the same as actually going in and having to climb up to the celieng over a zillion gallons of lava or having fisticuffs with a few blazes at once. I'd really like a nether, even if it is only for LTS.

If we are not going to have a nether world opened, can we actually hear some legitimate reasons why? Is it too much work for wooty? Does he not have the server space for it?

The nether world could be tiny. Just a 300 radius nether world that is reset every few days would provide more than enough nether materials for everyone interested.

I know we have had problems in the past with nether portals being used to gain access to otherwise inaccessible areas or to grief. I am unaware if this has been fixed or not.

I was under the impression that, if the Nether was going to be implemented, it would be after 1.5 (due to quartz). If the Nether does get implemented, smelting netherrack might become one of the primary ways I'll get xp.

This can be fixed by making a Nether portal (in a secure area) beforehand, so that a second portal won't be generated. It would be nice if we could find a plugin that only transports you if another portal is nearby in the overworld, and doesn't automatically generate the portal.

Not sure if the Nether will/won't be opened honestly. All I know is that when asked to write up a pricing list up, Nether items were included. I'd agree - I personally do like the option of actually going in and visiting my fellow Nether feinds in search for raw resources. Though there are also days where I'm just as happy to throw money at something instead of spending the time mining. As per the 1.5 update, before we even got the new setup going, there was discussion of just regioning an area which would just have the chunks deleted once 1.5 came out to facilitate with quartz. Honestly I would rather just see a semi-consistant wipe, perhaps monthly?

Using the Nether for transport used to be popular since you can go 8x further for a given amount of rails. That'd be a nice thing to do if we didn't have wipes. I remember working hard on Nether rails until the Nether disappeared forever :(

I'm still waiting on word as to whether the redstone restrictions will be lifted or at least relaxed for the LTS world....considering the next update is the "Redstone Update". Honestly I'm finding I'm unable to enjoy the game as much when I can't build a simple delay circuit.

The redstone stuff hasn't affected my enjoyment too much yet, it's a bit annoying. I'm thinking of building a complicated railway station thing, though, and wondering if it's even going to work and whether I should even bother trying.

It won't and don't.

Okay now my enjoyment is affected. kagato said I may add some railway stations to the Ascension railway line so long as they just have something like a 3 second delay, after which the cart is restarted, rather than requiring manual intervention, allowing people to go AFK on the rail. The redstone restrictions mean I can't implement that :(

Also, the redstone restrictions don't seem to be stopping the server from dying pretty frequently anyway. What's wrong with the server at the moment?

I have several suggestions, but I've made them before, and I found that I'm rarely listened to. So I'll sit back while everyone else slowly realizes that I was right all along, as always happens.

You weren't right about coffee enemas, so I'm not going to give you that one.
