You weren't right about coffee enemas, so I'm not going to give you that one.
I actually was. It's one of the most effective ways to get the caffeine from the coffee. Wait, you didn't try it with the raw beans, did you?

orebfuscator is what's doing that? OMG! It gets so annoying to constantly be seeing it. I hate it! Anyways I just wanted to say i love the world. It took some getting used to, and of course I ranted a little and I apologize. I just got so spoiled from my old server.

Anyways I would like to mention potentially setting up the Stargate bukkit plugin. Stargate This is a plugin that was in use on the old server I was playing on. It honestly was a truly lovely plugin. As long as we set up a few rules it could be used quite usefully for everyone. Also another train of thought could be to use it in a town to create a portal from spawn to the town, then you could, in theory, create only a single portal in the Spawn area for the Nether, and just wipe nether every few nights or so. This would potentially solve several problems at one. What do you think?

P.S. I know on the old server I'm from we used Star Portals as we called them to go all over and even got to the point that users had their own portal network. I can explain more if you'd like me to...

We already have Multiverse on the server so it'd be a bit pointless add Stargate. Granted I do kind of like having a single portal to all things, but I don't think it would happen. Not sure if it'll get done or not, but initially we'd talked about getting it set so that each town could have a portal from spawn. Worldguard already has a flag for teleport where you can define the x, y, z for the location to teleport to within a named region. All that would need to be done is implement a system that would allow a named region from a portal at spawn to teleport folks to the assigned point at town, without the need of giving folks access to the actual Worldguard command.

It also seems that Orebfuscator is also rerendering fake blocks whenever a block is updated/revealed. You'll most likely never see the same combination on those walls. With this constant updating of what blocks are being faked, it may be the cause of much of the mining block lag.

Also, I thought that the plugin worked so that once a block was revealed, it would never "lie" again? I had some things where I would travel away from such a wall as in StTheo's screenshot and then turn back to it and see it covered in these fake ores.

So... will there be a shop anytime soon? I don't have much incentive to vote if I have nothing to spend money on (lts wise)...

No, since the obfuscation is client based, every time a chunk loads or a block is updated, it pretty much resets. I would like to see the distance increased from three blocks to at least a chunk, preferably two. Should reduce latency minutely and fix the majority of the graphical glitches. In addition, if it isn't disabled already, turn off the check for lighting level, since it's both buggy and annoying...and it doesn't actually work when it's needed.

hmm i agree Allimon if that's the case it would indeed be inducing lag... and I'd say increase it like Gurw did, but maybe even further than a chunk... idk just an idea.

One minor update - you can spawn Snow Golems - not sure when that started working. Will hopefully have some more updates reguarding other requests/issues soon (redstone, minecarts, nether, etc.). Oh, and 1.5 is due tomorrow for those not keeping tabs on things. Obviously means we probably won't be going to it for a week until Bukkit is legit enough.

And hopefully, since it is called that "Redstone Update," we get some redstone working in time.

Just an update, the Nether is now open. I believe you can make your own portals, but they MUST line up perfectly between both worlds else you will likely suffocate. Remember that nether is 8X compressed the X/Z of the real world, Y remains the same (i.e. 10, 60, 10 in Nether would be 80, 60, 80 in LTS).

Oh, and myceleum spreads now so be sure if you come to take some from the mushroom island, that you put some dirt back down in it's place to ensure more grows back. Or even better, take just a couple blocks and let it spread back at your own town farm.

I think the true story of Nether portals is this: you put a portal in one world, it teleports you to the corresponding location in the other world regardless of whether or not there is a Nether portal or anything there. You don't technically need to have a portal in exactly the right location at each end, you just need somewhere suitable to teleport to - like the portals to/from spawn don't exactly correspond. You could have a portal high up in the Nether so long as the corresponding location in the surface world had a platform there, or water to cushion your fall.

Also, don't forget that the inside of a Nether portal is 2 blocks wide, so the left side of a portal in the Nether is going to take you to one place on the surface, and the right will take you to a place 8 blocks away. Going from the surface to the Nether, on the other hand, due to rounding, probably both sides will take you to the same coordinates. I guess the Minecraft Wiki gives you the exact math - what direction the rounding goes in, whether your coodinates are rounded before dividing by 8, etc.

At least, this is my understanding, please correct me if I'm wrong!

One other addendum, Woot has moved the server from Bukkit to Spigot for backend. As a result, the Orebfuscator plugin has been disabled and we are running the one built into Spigot, should hopefully do away with the false blocks people have been observing.
