Also, don't forget that the inside of a Nether portal is 2 blocks wide, so the left side of a portal in the Nether is going to take you to one place on the surface, and the right will take you to a place 8 blocks away. Going from the surface to the Nether, on the other hand, due to rounding, probably both sides will take you to the same coordinates. I guess the Minecraft Wiki gives you the exact math - what direction the rounding goes in, whether your coodinates are rounded before dividing by 8, etc.

Yes and that is very important - so either make sure your portal has room 8 blocks to the right or block off the portal so people can only use one side.

They do seem to act a little wierd though, the one at spawn sometimes is warping folks back 8 blocks. Woot hollowed out enough area to make it safe, but I would test your own multiple times.

that's actually kinda cool about the "cheat" the system kinda thing. Takes me back to the movie "Hackers" and the phrase/line from the movie you hear several times "Hack the System!"

Ok so I realized I was wrong in my statement of this, it's not "System" it's "Hack the Planet" just thought I'd mention it.

Yeah...the thing about spigot is how....different it is. 1.5 can connect, but it's wonky.

Because the server, while not running 1.5, is reporting that it is running 1.5, thusly only 1.5 patched clients will be able to connect.

Oh, and the redstone restrictions have been laxed as well. Believe Woot mentioned like 10 second timers.

Personally I'd rather wait a bit longer and get stability than get all the features the very second they are released. Hey, we just got the Nether, that'll keep me interested for a while while I wait

Ignore the time frames. This is a new thing and has not been widely publicized to now. In fact, I was unaware of the command and probably was bound to be unaware of it until I read his post and I thank him for that.
