Herp derp Team9000. It is I, the flakes of kon. In this blog, I shall update the people of T9k as to my current status and events that have happened in my life.
Since about a year ago, I became extremely and even more inactive than I was before. As explained before, I was meant to enter my country's NationalSlaveryService (NS), a conscription into the army for 2 years. I was supposed to enter in mid Nov last year, but due to a past injury, a meniscus tear, my combat fitness status was lowered and my enlistment delayed. I entered the NS on the 3rd Feb this year.
There are many terms and jargon we use to describe our military stuff and procedures and... stuff... that would take too long to explain so I will skip some details and instead describe more generally my time so far.
One month spent on an island. Yes, there were dorms and beds and proper toilets/showers. But by no standard would they be considered "resort-like". The facilities were mostly pretty run down as they've been around for several decades. During the one month, I was to spend 3 weeks there without leaving at all, but I got out slightly earlier due to a high fever. After the 1 month there, we were given our vocations or jobs for the next 2 years.
I was sent off as an automotive technician. Basically I fix army vehicles, ranging from large 5 ton trucks to land rovers. I was trained in the art of vehicular manhandling for 3 months on the mainland, and then sent off to one of the camps, also on the mainland, to be stationed there. After spending about 3-4 months there, I decided to then go for a minor surgery to fix my knee injury just 1 week ago, on 8th Oct.
Apparently they cut open my knee, put a scope in and went, "Umm, nope. Nothing wrong here. Stitch 'im up!"
Well so that's the basic gist of what I've been doing for the past year or so. Oh, I'm also on medical leave thanks to my surgery till 25th Nov. So I'll still be lurking around here, still... lurking... but lurking MORE~
Also noticed that I failed to continue my Japan holiday blogs from a whole freaking year ago. If anyone was looking forward to that, I apologize but I think its a little too late to complete it now. But all I left out were probably how I spent 2 days exploring Akihabara and buying porn there.
