Too many players

I would be a fan of adding one or two more admins to survival but i don't see any need for this veteran or rank stuff on survival.

Everyone will be fighting for ranks like classic. And that would mean much more work for everyone.

But there should be something like cool world though... after the player earns trustworthiness or something like that.

4 regular mods handpicked by the admins that DO NOT share mod responsibilities on classic would fix the problem IMO.

Clayto: Shitting on everything anyone says since 2011.

Really dude, if you've got nothing beneficial to add to the topic, then don't add anything. Almost anything I read you've posted has been nothing but passive-agressive swipes at Woot and the other moderators/admins on SMP and Classic. If you don't like how we're running things, then either provide some suggestions or shut up. Much to your jaded belief, what is discussed on the forums does get considered and implemented. Not everything gets implemented, but a number of things do. I'm sorry if it takes a glacially long time for anything to change, but it is pretty much just one guy running the website, and the servers, and his own business and going to school and writing code to integrate all of the different software/programs he uses so it's easier for him and for others to moderate and obtain new tools to improve and assist the community. Not to mention, he's doing all of this for free.

What The Gurw said is a good idea (the Teacher rank). I personally am still uncertain about adding ranks into SMP, because of how Classic works and how much some people are frenzied about getting to the next rank, rather than playing the game. I am very confident that there will be players in the SMP server that will become the same way and do who knows what to earn that rank because they feel it will make them look cooler in the eyes of others or whatever the motivation may be. I suppose I need just a little bit more convincing.

I would also be inclined to think that establishing some sort of schedule for the moderators would be asking maybe a bit too much from those individuals without some sort of compensation, which will most likely never happen. I can't really say whether we need more moderators, since I'm not on much.

I think you kind of over-reacted. Although unnecessary his response did hold some weight. He complimented Gurw on his well thought approach, but brings in the sting of reality that this entire thread may be useless in the eyes of Wooty.

Just sayin'.

No, I don't think I did. It's not just this thread he's been spouting his negativity. It's a regular thing, and he doesn't provide any sort of alternative or suggestion to improve, he just dumps some snide remark and leaves it at that.

I do agree, but... don't let it get to you.

Woot does look over these threads. It is our responsibility to make sure that these suggestions are reasonable and popular enough among his more trusted associates for him to decide whether they are in the best interest of the community.

clayto i am not going to talk for moondoggy but "go fuck yourself" is some rather strong words and i don't think anything moondoggy said deserved that.

 If you don't like the number of people that are on the server... start your own.

Bullshit.

I used to make suggestions but quickly learned that there is no point.

SMP desperately needs moderators.

I don't quite know how to put this but: Go fuck yourself.

Yeah you have made countless contributions to the community but who are you to say I have been "shitting on anything anyone says" the whole time I have been here? You act like I all I have been doing for the past year on here is troll admins.... I've gotten into it with a few people on here but I think I handled it like an adult and made up with everyone.

Woot has already explained why his hasn't/isn't added ranking and more moderation to SMP. Does that make me a psychic when I say that Gurw's idea isn't going to be implemented?

You guys can ban me from the forum but good luck getting rid of me.
Calm down, please.

If he wants to call me out, fine. It doesn't mean I have to take his crap. If he can dish it out he can take it.

This wasn't the appropriate forum to call you out like this, and I'm sorry for derailing this thread. Rather than taking what I had to say and reconsidering your behavior and trying to modify or improve, you're just going to turn around tell me to go fuck myself. That's fine. Maybe what I said wasn't as eloquent or as tactful as I could have made it, but it pissed me off, I had enough of seeing your negative and unhelpful posts almost everywhere someone is discussing an idea they have for the server/website. Things don't get changed or improved unless it starts with an idea and is said out loud. Next time you decide to post about how something someone said isn't going to happen, maybe you should reconsider sending it, since no one likes a Negative Nancy.

It seems I have to act like Damashki, and bring the peace.

I am rather surprised seeing Moondoggy like this, he is usually pretty calm, unless dealing with me. I do have to agree with Clayto, we need to have a few more moderators on SMP. We shouldn't resort to cursing each other out over the situation though, I think over time things will work out. Now quiet down, before you both wake the sheeple.

EDIT: Damashki hated the pic, and made this one.

Now, it's been mentioned ad finitum, but we truly need more admins on SMP.

Woot rarely gets on,
Ozy is on often (but always AFK)
and Furkey gets on some of the time, and actually gets shit done.

It's nice an' all having a spawn maze and whatnot, but I just feel as if the admins could better use their time... I dunno, moderating?

I really don't know why you're so against more admins on SMP, Woot. Is it a trust issue? If so, then just give mods /kick or /ban commands, and no /give powers, if you're worried about economies being farked.

Classic has mods coming out of its ears, and SMP has next-to-none. Whilst SMP has signficantly less players, it has significantly more things that can go wrong. It's harder to fix or deal with grief in SMP. And when you come across a troll, there's repercussions, rather than just annoyances.

We need more moderators! It's seriously a problem!

I'm all for Gurw's idea. In fact, I'm all for any improvement. I'm tired of having to constantly stop what I'm doing to ignore the swarms of imbeciles on the server. We need some improvement.

NOTE: I feel like crap ATM, and I'd be more than happy to write out a proper arguement if need be.

The biggest problem about moderators on survival, is the teleport permission.

Anyone who is granted teleport, is instantly unable to play the game in a fair, balanced way. In order to check for grief, they must be able to teleport to reported locations, and have the ability to give themselves items for repairing any destruction. It's difficult to keep your inventory "legit," and you lose that element of "survival." You become more of an "admin," and less of a "player."

On previous survival worlds, any users that became moderators basically had to give up building and "surviving" all together. All the fun just gets sucked out of it.

Solution: Admins/mods who don't actually care about surviving, only about helping other players.
