I just started playing on the team9000 server a few days ago. It's been fun, but this evening I was out in the wilderness collecting seeds when someone starts shooting me. I looked up and masterbuffalo is laying into me with arrows for absolutely no reason. After I realized I was under attack, I began firing back and hit him quite a few times, but I just started the other day and don't have a crap load of arrows to use, so I was forced to flee. Masterbuffalo chased me for several hundred meters before finally getting within range again and finished me off. This is bullshit. I lossed everything I had on me. When I asked him why he attacked me, he said I shot him with arrows (which I did only after he shot me many many times). Are there no admins on this server? This was a completely unprovoked attack that resulted in the loss of a lot of materials. If this is the kind of behavior that goes on on this server, without repercussions, then I want no part of it.

Things like these happen. Don't be pissed about it, there's always some goofballs who are going to abuse PvP and those who are either unaware of it being there or for whatever other reason. Since you're new on this server let me give you a quick explanation: PvP was just added a week or so ago, so there's oodles of kiddies running around and killing people so they get a fancy nametag that says "Outlaw". If I can do anything to help replace your lost stuff, let me know.

Fooville would be happy to help as well as we are against the stupidity that is PvP in Minecraft. PvP in Minecraft is like putting a rat trap in a box of crayons. PvP in a game based around the idea of creativity is the most ridiculous load of horse fecal matter I have seen in a while. The fact that it was put in the game as default on is even more of a joke and designed to feed the anonymous children and griefers who choose to visit the server. There are literally hundreds of PvP focused games on the planet where kiddies can stroke their epeens. We don't need them in Minecraft.

Perhaps he was already on the server before PvP was introduced. I'm not sure if there were messages outside of the spawn area. Being "new" to the server is a very vague term

Let me use some parable to demonstrate how wrong you are. Team9000 has also Classic server, where you need to obbey /rules. Its said on loading screen, its said when you join the game and its also spammed from time to time ingame. Yet inconsiderable number of players still ask why this or that, which is all covered in /rules.
Now back to your comment - its easy to say that when you know what and when/where to expect, like blue text when you leave spawn, in your chatbox. But not everyone is camping spawn tower to "find out" there is some hidden message saying some info.

No, you are not excused. This has nothing to do with your fondness to classic server. This has a lot in common to problem we are discussing here. And if you are that fond of classic you should exactly know what i am talking about and stop trying to defend something where there is no case.
