WorldGuard: Army, Ally, and......Guard....

Before I start this thread, I will get one thing clear, WorldGuard is NOT an empire, and while it may be supported by the Cydonian Empire, it will not attack a city unless the Federation Council orders it.

WHAT IS THE WORLDGUARD?

The WorldGuard is a group of volunteers dedicated to the Federation, preserving the Federation, and most importantly, fun. WorldGuardians are expected to preserve, protect, and assist the Federation in every possible way that they can. They will follow Federation orders without question.

WHAT DOES THE WORLDGUARD DO?

The WorldGuard does a variety of things, each important to the Federation. Join the WorldGuard, and you will be assisting with these.

ESCORT VALUABLES

The world of Minecraft is not safe. Not safe at all. With mobs, hazardous terrain, and murderers, it can be very risky to take multiple stacks of diamonds from one city to another (especially if it is a multiple day trip). This is where WorldGuard comes in. WorldGuard members will be fully armored (and armed), making sure that valuables ALWAYS get from point A to point B. If railways are available, then they will simply take the railway.

REPAIR GRIEF

Like it or not, things get griefed. It is nearly impossible to prevent EVERY griefer from getting invited to town. Maybe you trusted a member, and as soon as he was invited, he burned your house down. Now obviously the banhammer would be slammed on this griefer's face, but what do you do with the mess? Leave it to the WorldGuard! WorldGuard members will repair grief to any Federation city that requests assistance. (NOTE: You WILL have to assist if you want a specific design, and if your city is griefed on a regular basis, we WILL require that you make changes to your town.)

GET GRIEFERS BANNED

In the event that a griefer starts trashing the server, WorldGuard members should immediately come to the forums and support a ban request on the griefer. With enough support, an admin will surely see it, and the griefer will get banned.

Most importantly......HAVE FUN!

The WorldGuard is not just about serious business. We will be going on expeditions in caves, going on nether adventures, inventing things with redstone, and more! The WorldGuard is not meant to make you unhappy, it is meant to protect happiness, that includes you!

PERKS OF BEING A WORLDGUARDIAN

*Still being discussed with Federation leaders, stay tuned*

RANKS

Private: Welcome to the WorldGuard! You have absolutely no leadership powers, and only follow orders. Privates are under the command of Sergeants.

Sergeant: You have displayed your dedication to the WorldGuard, and Federation. You now have power over Privates. There are no squads as of now, but if things get too unorganized, then Sergeants will order their squad of Privates.

Captain: You're a WorldGuard veteran. You have gone to Hell and back to ensure that everybody has a good time in the Federation. You Have command over everybody except Generals. You also promote people (If you promote somebody that does not deserve the promotion, or you promote somebody because he is "your friend", I will demote him AND you personally).

General: Top men, appointed by me. You must have reached at least Captain, and can no longer be promoted through service. I have to trust you. Generals command everyone and everything (except the Commander), and lead the WorldGuard in the Commander's absence. They do anything they think is necessary. (Once again, Generals that disobey rules, contradict my orders, or do anything flat-out stupid will be demoted.)

Commander: The leader of the WorldGuard. The Commander is in charge of just about everything WorldGuard related. The Commander follows the orders of the Federation Council, and can only be demoted or impeached by the Federation Council. The Commander is in charge of enforcing WorldGuard (and more importantly, Federation) rules.

Captain ranks will be given out to a select few people early, to ensure that the WorldGuard can start off smoothly (Things would be pretty crazy if everybody was a private)

(If you want more information about the ranks, contact me)

Actually, I think if a town becomes hostile, cutting off their railway would be a better option.

Interesting concept. I particularly like the part about escorting valuables and fighting mobs.

But I'm relatively new to Beta, so I'll ponder some more.

The WorldGuard will escort the cobblestone, gold, and other valuables to spawn to sell before we have a railway set up.

Have you joined a town yet? We have many Federation towns to choose from!
(And we'd love to have you!)

Raptor, start a convo with me and Vorsprung, and we'll settle out some perks.

Xraptor, may I ask, how is the fastest way to prove myself and gets promotions?

For one, you should not flat-out state that you want to be promoted, this makes you look power hungry.

Also, promotions are handed out if you are loyal, trustworthy, and you are not a rule-breaker.

Basically, display your worth.

I see a flaw with the hostile town scenario. Building a wall around a city and claiming land takes time, what's gonna stop them from running out of the city before it's finished? Also where will you get the money for it? As for the rail, as long as we build it we can cut it off, but that's ineffective if they just walk to the city and find an entrance point without the rail.
