You know, I was watching a serious doctor talking on The Deadliest Warrior about zombies. He was explaining that there was a chance of one happening, but it would take certain diseases to fuse together into a super bacteria for that to happen.

1) Have a large group of people who are not douchebags. (e.g Assholes who lock you out, general asshole)
-These will be your companions. Make sure you can trust them to guard your back and do the same for them. Remember, strength in numbers.

2) Barricade self in a good stocked up shopping mall.
-Shopping mall = plenty of weapons, plenty of food, plenty of entertainment. Nuff' said.

These 2 pretty much cover EVERYTHING.

I would be more afraid of whatever means how the infection will spread, by air/water/etc.
