  2. After pressing the Print Screen key the entire screen is practically 'copied' like what would happen if you copy pasted an item of text. So now you have to Paste it somewhere!
  3. Click Start and open up Microsoft Paint, paste the picture into Paint and save as a .jpg or .png file.

Mac Guide
  • On your keyboard press down and hold Apple/Command + Shift and press the 3 key to take a screenshot, you also have the option to press down and hold Apple/Command + Shift and 4 to make a 'selection' image, this way you can select the area which you want to make an image of. If you've done this successfully you should hear a 'camera shutter' sound.

  • These images are automatically saved by default to your desktop as 'Picture1'

Uploading Screenshots to the web

You can either host the image online, or use the forum's built-in attachment option.

Uploading to an image hosting website
If you're going to upload to an online photo storage website I recommend using Photobucket to upload images - Click me to go to Photobucket and begin uploading images

You can also upload the image from your hard drive to the forum, this is the perfect choice for those of you who don't want to host those images online on a site such as Photobucket or ImageShack:
  • Click "Upload a File" on your new post, and upload the picture!

Very informative, though you might want to add that certain programs have screen-capture built in already:

Steam: Default is F12
Minecraft: F2

from there you can find the folder where screenshots are stored, and just pull from there! :D
This is mainly meant for games that do not have this option, such as Minecraft Classic.

Please can I get rank now? Its a boat BTW! :D
