Beautiful. Majestic. Humbling. These are all words we use to describe nature at it's best. These words implant images into our heads that make us believe what we wish about the Earth and its landmarks. Seeing the Rocky Mountains in person has put that all into perspective. You might expect to see a huge natural range of mountains beyond your imagination, but it all looks a little painted, a little fake, a little crafted.
You see the enormous hills covered in trees and you can't believe how it came to be. Two plates of hard rock somehow pushing eachother up like how you would wrinkle a shirt boggles the mind until it can't accept it. How something so rigid and tough could act so malleable makes you feel like it was not possible. Like it was something that couldn't be done, by any force.
It all seems a little cut. A little molded. A little planned. A little painted.
