Another Patch?

It seems as though my minecraft Beta patched today when started it up..... Might this be the reason I once again cannot connect to my favorite minecraft server?

Just try to connect every half an hour, it's pretty stop start.

I'm sure woot is working on this adamantly. I hope that this every half hour kind of request isnt putting strain on the servers

What more strain could you put on Minecraft.net?

I can't even start minecraft, it freezes when I press "LOGIN" .
And on browser i only get a black screen.

Typically a sign that minecraft.net is still forked - usually the client will respond after a minute or two with the option to play offline or try again. Hope he gets it fixed soon - there's a big snow storm headed in thru Kansas and I'd like to have a method for burning all my spare time since I'm gonna be stuck indoors.
