anyone else having problems with the new launcher?

my launcher updated to the 1.3 launcher and now it always fails to connect to minecraft.net. I just wanted to know if anyone else has this problem, because I find it rediculous that the minecraft server goes down a lot and now this new launcher they made isent working properly. I know its Beta and there is bound to be more problems in the future, but does anyone know a solution to this problem?

New launcher works fine for me, I dunno
