Builders and /mute

Sometimes (but only sometimes) this happens:
1. No mods are on and guests are acting a bit naughty in chat. Builders are on, but can only mediate the problem by telling the perpetrator to stop and calm down

2. A similar scenario, but with the mods AFK.

What can builders do? I think that builders should get limited mute powers (like they can only mute for up to 10 min or something). And, if builders do good with /mute, they could possibly be considered for a promo to engineer. Why not this?
 
Or you can call a mod / admin in the team9000 chat. Ideas like this have came up very often. Also lets remember there are 700+ builders. The command would be abused
 
This will not happen. If there is an issue, we are always around, and you can use team9000 chat to get a hold of us. We aren't going to add moderation commands to a rank that isn't a moderator rank just because you don't want to use the team9000 chat.

It seems like everyone always forgets about the /ignore command. Simply ignore the troll and get in contact with administration.
 
People who can't make it to moderator status want moderator status to make it to them. What is it with builders wanting to be these Backseat mods so badly? Especially with the surplus amount of engineers and awesomes, there is almost no time I've gotten on and there wasn't a moderator on.

2 am CST with 5 guests on, one particularly rowdy. 3 builders on, with an AFK Mod.

Techincally, the mod wasn't on. This happened last night.

DaG, you already know by a lot of experiences that this has happened a lot. People who are moderators and admins have a lot of other important things to do (work, potty, etc.). And what sort of casual person stays up at 2 am? T9K spans worldwide, but I'm assuming most of the members here are in the U.S., which means that it's 12:00 - 3:00 AM in the entire U.S. People need sleep. The guest was probably grumpy because he hasn't slept yet.
 
What about the UK? I mean, 2 am in US is 8 am in London. And...

Poor excuse, and remember, *taps watch* WORK WORK WORK. I don't know too many people who live in Europe that are admins/mods. I can only remember ConroD being one of them but that's about it.
