DJ Hero

Have you ever wanted to be a sick DJ? Do you want to lay down some dope beats? Well, now's your chance. DJ Hero brings relief to the long selling Guitar Hero and Rock Band craze that has been going on for the past few years. It brings a more creative and artistic feeling to the video game scene. But let's cut the garbledy jargon, and get to what's important.

Price

DJ Hero is available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, 360, and Wii. It includes a controller which features a rotatable turntable and three "stream" buttons, a cross-fader, effects dial, and Euphoria button.

There are two different editions of this game that can be purchased. The base model ($119.99) comes with the game and one standard turntable. The Renegade edition, on the other hand, has a black turntable (making it much more awesome) and a disc featuring Jay-Z and Eminem (eww). The renegade edition will run you a heafty $199.99. It also comes with a case / table that you will probably never use.

Pros
Cons
  • Graphics look exactly like Guitar Hero
  • The screen can get so bright and saturated with the “lighting” that it's hard to see the notes coming up
  • More expensive than gamers will be willing to pay
  • Eminem.
Summary

The game really is fun, and sheds new light on the worn out rhythm genre. It will definitely be a holiday favorite for people of all ages. If you can "lose yourself in the moment," it really does feel like you are DJing and making the beats up on the fly. The only major downfall for this game is the price... and Eminem.

Final Score: 7.5/10
