Twisted Metal will release October 4th on the Play Station 3 gaming console.
The games unzy soundtrack keeps the action going.
In the mode we demoed the goal was to capture the enemy team's faction leader and then launch them in a giant missle to win the rounds.
Each car has a front mounted machine gun as well as a special that can be deployed on a timed basis. Scattered through the levels are a large assortment of weapons including missles, flame throwers and a redeemer like weapon. The control layout was very similar to the orginial Twisted Metal games and it was very easy to pick up the controller and start playing. Tapping the brake key while holding a direction does a snappy 180 degree turn.
Unfortunitely our time on this game got cut short when a game glitch caused all 16 consoles connected to the game to crash. The people staffing the booth assured us that such crashes would not be present in the release version of the game.
