Not too long ago I made a thread about TV shows and got a lot of interesting shows on my "to watch" list (I've watched Code Geass and I'm currently on season 5 of Bones)
----------------------------------Post the names of a few of your favorite artists.
-Name your favorite album by said artist.
-If you want to give a sample of the best of their music, post your favorite song by them; But don't feel like you have to.
-Try to keep it Indie if you can. The point of this thread is to discover new music, not hear the same mainstream stuff.
-Also, I don't think I need to say this, but please don't criticize others' taste in music. You've not yet reached the pinnacle of musical taste, I promise you.
-Feel free to come back later and share some more
-Weird music is okay, like, even King of Carrot Flowers Pt.2 weird. Like to listen to a concept album about my little pony? Sure.
---------------------------------
I myself love folk, acoustic and alternative, but I'm open to anything that isn't loud(metal and such) and isn't rap, but if you're into that, then feel free to recommend it anyways, this thread isn't just for me.
So here I go, in no particular order.
I'll be naming them Artist, Album, a favorite song of theirs, and maybe a comment in parenthesis.
1. City and Color - Bring Me Your Love - The Girl (This man has the voice of an angel)
2. Dr. Dog - Shame, shame - Stranger (It was hard for me to choose a song,I love so many songs in this album)
3. Mikhael Pascalev - What's Life Without Losers - I spy
4. The Decemberists - The King is Dead - Calamity Song
5. Vampire Weekend - Contra - Horchata
6. The Tallest Man on Earth - The Wild Hunt - The Wild Hunt
7. Lazlo Bane - All The Time in The World - Superman (Those who've watched scrubs will know this one, but it's not the only good song in the album)
