ok perhaps i didn't state myself clearly... amd is better for similarly priced models, however they don't make ridiculously overdone supercomputer type stuff. my AMD premium vision runs like a dream (not just a vision) and was shown to outperform an intel of the same price

im actually happy about me getting the artifacts.
they are upgrading my video card to a 6950 2gb for free :3 which i can always just flash to a 6970
its about the equivalent of the 5870 but the extra gig will come in handy in the future and tessellation is a nice little thing i can now turn on :3

Cost of that upgrade is like half the amount of the cost of the amount of time that you've lost dealing with subpar hardware. They owe you 2 of those imo.
