I think I broke something...

So I was messing around with mods, and before I started messing around with them I made a backup of my entire .minecraft folder. I tried to install a mod and it gave me black screen, so I went and deleted the original .minecraft folder and put the old one back in. Now whenever I try to log in minecraft says "not installed" but it is installed. Does anyone know how to fix it?

Uninstall and delete Minecraft. Re-download and re-install Minecraft. In that order.

force update, done and done!

also, delete your meta-inf folder if u plan on installing mods

I managed to fix it, thanks for the help.

Chumba, I already knew about the meta-inf. I had optifine, but it was another mod that broke everything. x_x
It's all working now.
