OH MY FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER!!!!!
THAT
IS
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

(Note the giant mushroom in lower part of pic.

Woodkeep needs to be near one of these.

Cool!

I wonder of Notch also adjusted the instance rate of open seas in order to maintain a land/water ratio. It would be neat if seas and landmasses were more definitive instead of having a giant mess of sea and land.

Also, kudos for the mushroom and two pumpkins, Notch

I actually really want to see minecraft maps look more "Earth like", as in filled with various sized bodies of land surrounded by a planetary ocean.

It's a dream come true! Notch just posted about oceans:
Trying to balance gameplay against scale is interesting. I can do HUGE oceans with HUGE islands very easily and fast now, but it plays bad.
But the bigger the islands are, the bigger the biomes can be. And deserts want to be big.

This is awesome! It's a little weird that the rivers don't seem to have a direction that they're flowing in, but I suppose that's difficult to do.

you can't see twits without a twitter account? after i started following battlefield 3 i registered for twitter just to get tweets from the devs, who sometimes can leak some pretty nice details about the game. Like the fact that the giant map recently featured in the jets video is 1,5kms long.
