So, it would seem there are legal issues evolving with Ms. Black and the recording company that wrote the lyrics and produced the music video. According to CNN.com, Ms. Black and her mother are arguing that they had an agreement with the record company, Ark Music Factory, that Ms. Black and her mother were to be given sole rights to the master recordings of the song "Friday," and the music video produced for the same song. Friday, by the way, has reach 38 on Billboard's digital music singles chart this past week (shame on all of you).
Ark Music Factory's lawyer is claiming Ms. Black and her mother do not have the rights to the song or the video since the agreement was not court-approved.
As an aside, it would seem the whole thing only cost $4000 to produce, which doesn't seem like a whole lot, IMO.
