There are threads I respond to that I really don't think deserve to be bumped. However there might be side effects I haven't thought of. Has this been discussed already?

In our web.rebuild project (not yet on a timeline), replying to a post would "bump" the thread, but not all the way to the top. The older a thread, the more activity would be required to raise it up.
