The ultimate T9k cooking thread.

That's why you should never bake/cook when tired. I was making sweet potato puree for my son late one night and I was tired and cranky so I wound up burning out the motor of our blender.

Well I really didn't have a choice as I was inadvertently thrown into a "Unofficial Official Office Bake-off" by Godlib....Good news though...

Sigh... look at all these difficult and expensive food stuffs.

Here's something even a 12 year old could make. For cheap. You know.
I'm cheap.

If you have a slow cooker/crockpot/crackpot dump these in

7 chicken drumsticks. $4
5 diced potatoes $2
5 cut carrots $0.50
5 onions cut into quarters? $1
3 mugs of water $---

Meh. Put in on "Low" and wait 5/6 hours i guess...

mix in a tablespoon of vegetable/chicken stock and soy sauce and you got food for 4 days.

I guess you could add more stock if it tastes bland. So the grand total is about $8. That's 4 meals.
You could eat it with rice because I do that too (I get 8 meals). Add 1 teaspoon of tumeric powder and some homebrand frozen vegetables (Every Australian knows homebrand)

I found my slow-cooker out on someone's driveway with a cardboard cutout that said "free stuff".

That was destiny right there. I knew we were meant for each other the day I first saw her.

Nom :)

The total cost of the meal was around $27. I bought almost everything on sale and it makes around 12 portions. If I make a small salad to go with it each day, I can have an incredible meal every night for just over $2.
