I have been trying for a long time now to get enough money for a decent PC (preferably one able to run games smoothly on at least medium quality) And I found a build that might suit my budget quite well. I would like some friendly input from the community on if i should build this rig (and if need be, upgrade it down the road when it is too outdated).

My budget is around $400.

Motherboard:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130662 $60
MSI FM2-A75MA-E35 FM2 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

APU:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113280 $130
AMD A10-5800K Trinity 3.8GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket FM2 100W Quad-Core Desktop APU (CPU + GPU) with DirectX 11 Graphic AMD Radeon HD 7660D

Case and Power Supply:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811108191 $75
IN WIN BK644.BN300TBL Black 0.6mm SECC Japanese ECO Steel MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case 300W Power Supply
(I already have a good enough power supply, so if anyone can suggest a cheaper alternative for just a compatible case would be much appreciated)

EDIT~
This seems like a decent alternative:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147167 $46
Rosewill FBM-02 Dual Fans MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case

Optical Drive:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106289 $17
LITE-ON DVD Burner - Bulk 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM Black SATA Model iHAS124-04 - OEM

Hard Drive:
http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=65701&vpn=ST1000DM003&manufacture=Seagate&promoid=1209 $90
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM 64MB SATA 6Gbps 3.5in Internal Hard Drive
(A cheaper alternative would be welcomed, but preferably remaining as a SATA drive. I do not NEED 1TB, I can go lower)

RAM:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314 $48
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL

Current total:
$420

(More expensive than I'd like it to be. Any suggestions would help me out a lot.)

Price with Edit:
$391

Thanks.

Thats a nice build Jerzey, but if I'm not mistaken, there is only a $5 difference between the hard drives in our builds and a 250GB difference for that price. I think the one I posted would be the better alternative. As for the case and MOBO combo you posted the MOBO is Micro ATX while the case is an ATX mid tower. Not sure if those will line up right.

Also seems to be an added $12 shipping.

Edit~
Just looked, and that case will support the MicroATX board. I'm an idiot for not looking before asking.

This drive saves you no money, but gets you 2TB instead of 1.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005T3GRN2/
(The price does fluctuate, so it may not be the same price when you go to buy it. Currently, it's $90)
I have 2 of these drives, they're working fine for me currently.
I can't help with the other stuff because there's just too many choices for me to keep up with it all anymore. It was much easier when there were only 2 Intel CPUs and maybe 1 AMD.)

Without a dedicated GPU, that processor isn't going to allow the type of gaming you want.

Too many edits, will link wishlist instead.

A bit over budget, but will play a bit better due to having a dedicated GPU.

I will be purchasing the APU in a couple hours, and I get payed in 2 days. I will probably buy the MOBO, the RAM, and possibly the optical drive at that time.

By I have a budget of $400, I meant I'm poor as hell and want cheap parts to work towards xD

Thank you very much for the parts list.

Thank you to Godliberator and Dmax as well for their inputs on this subject.

As Jerzey said, APU's won't give ya the gaming your looking for. It will also be a potential hazard for your system to overheat/lockup if the GPU portion fails on it, I speak from experience with my wife's computer that had an integrated GPU on the MOBO. It was an HP slimline with integrated Nvidia GPU, a few months of WoW and the system locked up...

Save yourself hassle in the long-run and if you'll be getting anything decent, get a good case, MOBO, PSU, and CPU. Can always upgrade GPU, RAM, and Disk Drives later on.

Oh god! Just noticed you going for a mini-tower! Do not get do not get!!! Reference above for cooling issues, it'll be a brick if you don't have liquid cooling as air cooling is damn near impossible with how compact these mofo's are.

That would be very much appreciated.

However...

There seems to be quite a difference between the HD5450 and the HD6670 that Jerzey suggested
http://www.hwcompare.com/10727/radeon-hd-5450-vs-radeon-hd-6670-oem/
So I would probably be better off purchasing the HD6670 as primary and having that HD5450 as a backup just incase things go sour. With the card being just under $90 I think it would be a good idea.

Free vs under $90 :D HD5450 played a pretty good bit of games and it's a 1Gb card unlike the 512mb that they usually are.

OR you can take bored's generous offer, and then purchase an even better graphics card later when you are able to spend that money. Or, prehaps you could take that $90 and put it towards the other parts of the build.

Or you know, buy Pixie a lap dance.

From Bored's Post:

Case:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119068
[I owned this. Great case, size, and price. Good catch Bored]

Ram:
http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Venge...UL1C/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1359666351&sr=8-8 Corsair fanboy :D
[Another nice catch, good speed, heat spreaders, I'm just too much of a Newegg fanboy to shop anywhere else]

CPU:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103996
[You all keep suggesting AM3+ processors when he is getting an FM2 motherboard which future proofs him a bit. Also the APU I picked out is the same price.]

GPU:
I actually have 2 spare Radeon HD5450's since I changed to HD6770, if ya can hold off a month I can give ya 1 at PAX

[I'd do this, save the money, and get a newer GPU later on]

Okay, updated build:

GPU:
Radeon HD5450 that will be recieved at PAX from [Bored]
(thank you for this very generous offer)

Total current build costs:
$345.93 (without additional shipping costs for some parts)

Does this sound like a good selection of the listed parts to build the computer?

Yea sorry bout that, board I'm using is AM3 since not using an APU. I still would worry about possible lockup, the larger case will enable better cooling but rolling in CPU + GPU to one chip still seems like a bad idea honestly unless your secure in a high-end air cool or liquid cooled system.

Btw, what is the PSU ya have already thee_pro?
