So this is happening today, and it wont happen again until 2117. Basically Venus crosses the sun and you see a small black spot on the sun during daylight hours. Now I'm not sure exactly when its happening, for me it will happen later today near sunset. Anyone on the west coast it will happen earlier I think, and you will have a better view of it.

I'm gonna try to take a picture of it with a telephoto lens and really fast aperture speed but I doubt anything good will come out of it as I don't have any filters :/ also I don't want the camera sensor to be damaged or anything. I dunno

EDIT: ok so like I'm messing around outside trying to get the camera ready etc for the sun. Then I started messing around with projecting the sun on paper with a telescope then a magnifying glass, and I accidently burned a hole through my sock with the magnifying glass ._.
