Why am I banned?

I was just connecting to the Team9000 Public Server on Minecraft, and it said this:

Connection Lost
You're Banned!

I don't think I ever did anything to upset people on this server, but it may have been an antigrief program, as I was destroying a lot of sand to make a basement. Please reply.
