i tried to connect to the server and it comes up with this

It's not specific to you. Just wait. I'm sure it will be back soon enough.

Btw I hope you got a chance to see where I was on the map
 
Doesn't appear to be mc.net related so far as I can tell. I can still log in and hit other servers just fine.
 
It may not be the server, I looked the error up on other forums, and other people have had the same problem with every server they would try to connect to
 
Alright i tried force update, it did update but it didn't fix the problem, perhaps the server version is outdated?
 
Yeah - just saw this one Jelbring's (one of the Mojang guys) Twitter feed from a few hours ago "Upgrading Minecraft login servers. Will return shortly."

Le sigh, can they ever NOT break the servers when updating? ;(
 
Odd thing is I'm not seeing any feeds on Twitter about the issue and I've tried 6 other servers without issue so :poop:
 
yh 1.4.3 was meant to be coming out today but apaz it got postponed and decided to take it straight to 1.4.3 in a few months
