I don't believe the end of the world will happen on that day, but more than just the Mayan calendar mentioned that date as something important. I don't know what, but some people believe it will be a polar shift. I personally beleive it may just be a normal day. I don't think that I'll have to worry on that day though.
 
Personally, I think that there will be SOMETHING that will happen on the 21st...

Not the End of the World, though.

It won't happen. It's just like almost every religion ever hasn't had any solid proof that can be used today, other than their holy books, which they use to prove that their holy books are true.
