That's all it really takes, isn't it? I mean, what goes into a gun?

Ammunition (battery, bullets, grenades, etc); trigger (button, actual trigger, handle, switch, etc); firing mechanism (firing pin, rails, laser); and method of aiming the damned thing (barrel).

Everything else is just extra.
