Steam Summer Sale 2014

Another announcement: Again for the 5 people who don't have it, Killing Floor, a game that is commonly played during game nights, is currently $5 for the next 8 hours. If you're interested in participating in most of the future game nights, I recommend picking it up. We have plenty of people who are willing to play it outside of game nights, too.

Admin only. :p Contact Wooty or Ozy via chat/mumble. Either way, the message will get to where it needs to go.
Meh, not too big a deal. I just wanted to rename the the thread "Steam Summer Sale 2014" since other steam sale things are popping up here.

Nother question: Having never played any of the Final Fantasy games, which one should I start with and which ones are the most worth playing? I honestly don't think it'd be worth it to play ever single FF game.

My personal favorite FF was FFX-2. A great game that was easy to pick up and play and had good pacing, but it had terrible voicing.

FF13 trilogy is not as bad as everyone says it is but if you want to really stand a chance in those you need to fight EVERYTHING or you risk being under leveled.

INB4 everyone claims FF7 is the best FF.

7 is a good place to start as it is readily available on steam, modern enough that its not classic looking. I like 6(aka 3). Pretty much it's just whichever one is easiest to get your hands on that isn't 10-2. I haven't played 12 or 13's though I'm playing 14 and it's fun for an MMO.

I've played FFXIII and I can say it's a decent game with interesting mechanics, but the voice acting is terrible and very cheesy. On the other hand, FF7: Crisis Core for the PSP is also fairly interesting with a decent storyline and decent voice acting. However, don't try hard until you unlock limit breaks (AP, MP, HP and damage limit breaks), otherwise you run the risk of spending 30 minutes fighting the first stage of the final boss with the boss staying at full health and then you dying from one hit.

Also don't play Crisis Core without playing FF7 normal first...the experience will be better.

I'm at this point with the 2nd fight against Barthandelus in ff13

I haven't actually beaten the game yet. Though I am on disc three. Is Barthandelus the Pseudo-God you fight before being sent below?

I have yet to play FF7, yet I still found the game quite enjoyable. It was also my first experience with Final Fantasy.

Tropico 4: yea or nay?

Also, I've got three extra copies of Borderlands 2, 2 copies of Ace of Spades, and 2 25% off Pixel Piracy coupons. I'm willing to trade games for the games, and whoever wants the coupons can have them. Let me know

They advertise that you can run around being an amazing supreme dictator and kill everyone. While you can do this, don't expect your country with a population of 63 to last long. People will rebel if you have too much pollution, so you better be ready to deal with half of your city rebelling and the other half busy farming.

That said, I really enjoyed it because you can play for a long time and still improve your city. It basically can be summed up as Capitalist vs. Socialist. Do you want to give free cheap housing or have super expensive but nice mansions for the rich and horrible tenements for the poor farmers who starve to death.

If you enjoy Sim City-type games then I would recommend it. If not, it still would probably be worth the $3 for a few hours of entertainment.

As much as I hate to admit it, I have never played a final fantasy game. Please don't beat me.

So to the point: any suggestions on which one(s) to pick up and start with for a total noob? and/or easiest to get hold of/most addictive etc etc. (Any platform)

For myself and others, the story is the biggest appeal of the series so there isn't exactly a perfect one to start on. That being said, I've only played the SNES ones and 1 of the newer ones (XIII I believe) so I don't have a good recommendation but I really didn't enjoy the newer one's story.
