The Federation: City of Cities

@Xraptor
Instead of being the head of a full time guard, why don't you just command a militia? I agree that the Federation needs some sort of organized military unit, but I also predict its uses being few and far between. Instances such as your old war with Waffleville will not happen every weekend. Instead of a full time army, perhaps implement a voluntary militia or, if not enough volunteers present themselves, a draft

A militia is too unorganized, and too weak.

The WorldGuard is not going to be a city invader (unless the Federation is directly attacked). It will be the primary source of mob related resources. The WorldGuard will also escort valuables between cities (if a safe and secure railway is not used). On top of that the WorldGuard will.....guard. The WorldGuard will enforce Federation rules (NOT town rules, individual town governments are responsible for their special rules), and will punish those who attempt to rebel against Federation rules. So....say somebody requires a theme to his town (which is against Federation rules, from what I heard). If the town leader refused to remove the theme policies, the WorldGuard would show up at his front door, and remove him from the Federation (under council demands). This would mean that all equipment and resources supplied by the Federation would be returned to the Federation (so long as it was not already used in a building).

By the way, Ustulo and Vorsprung, do you guys approve of this kind of action against rebels and trouble-makers?

I am going to set up a thread about the WorldGuard after I return from holiday break.

Sounds fine...
The main thing is that we give them plenty of notice so it's no surprise if they go against rules.
We don't want to be breaking down people's doors and stealing stuff back or anything...
I'd say the WorldGuard's role is this:
1: Prevent attacks / grief against WorldHub and, by extension where applicable, prevent grief against Federation towns.
2: Keep the peace and help solve arguements between players.
3: Keep WorldHub safe from mob attacks (in its early, formative stages).
4: Escort valuables between towns on trade routes, and to-and-from spawn.
5: Let towns know if they are contravening Federation / WorldHub rules.

Rather than demand Federation resources back, we should just kick them out of the Federation and wall up their WorldHub rail.
However, if they have stolen valuables such as diamond or gold, etc., we should demand them back, and we can also take further action by reporting them to admins.
Although we won't take resources back, if they have left valuables in WorldBank, we gain custody of them, and we get back all the rails in their tunnel, regardless of whether we supplied them or not.

I put that there for a reason, buddy.
Will the WorldGuard be defending this WorldBank?
There shouldn't be any need... I'm not going to make WorldBank till absolutely everything else is done.

so.. would woodkeep's woodiness count as a theme (since 95% of it will be made out of wood)

If the Federation Guard doesn't enforce town rules, they have no right to tell a town they can't be based on a theme.

Guys, I clearly read above that themes were going to be against the rules. I have been corrected, as I was wrong.

It was just an example, calm down guys....

A short correction before I leave for vacation:

The WorldGuard will enforce individual town rules, so long as the town government requests help, and states the rule being broken in their town.

Themes should be allowed! Loose Themes block noob housing and allow the town o look nice and organised. I personally don't want a multicolored home in the centre of a humble wooden village. Some Of the Servers best towns have had themes.

First of all, no themes.

Second of all, Vor, could I be appointed to be in charge of / maintaining the rail systems? I've been working on a cool little save you might like.

:D

Themes will be allowed, it is up to the judgement of a town whether or not to include them.

Also, regarding rail systems, please post your ideas, and keep in mind that Vorsprung is not the ruler of The Federation, but the appointed caretaker of the WorldHub.

Thanks for the input. :)

Eh. PM me your ideas.

A NOTE ON THE MOST IMPORTANT PYRO IN THE WORLD
While I'm not the leader of the Federation, I'd still like to approve changes made to the overall plan of WorldHub.
From an administrative standpoint; if I'm going to be WorldHub Caretaker, then I need to know every in and out of the structure. That includes the rails, etc. Not to mention, I do have a bit of a design for the WorldHub, and (not to be arrogant or anything) a fair few of the ideas for WorldHub have come from me.

Remember, my input is just a suggestion towards the Federation - much like my input into the council, or anyone's for that matter. I want discussion and feedback, and I love to hear of improvements to my overall design.

This is a open and free forum where everyone gets a free say in how things should be run. Remember that.
The Federation is all about not taking over anything or asserting independance over anyone, and all Federation members (me included) need to follow that mantra.

No themes. That's final.
If there's anything I feel strongly about, it's no themes. Themes can either really appeal to people... But more often than not, segregate people. Themes should be avoided - if a town wants to have a theme, it's up to them. We aren't going to be strict, or force people to do things they don't want to do. However, my stance on themes is quite negative, and I know I don't plan to build the WorldHub to a theme, and I don't want to limit anyone else.
Ugliness should be avoided, of course, but Ustulo has said that from the start.
