If you don't want to spend anymore, I suggest staying away from the website and anything Star Citizen until the game is released.

Edit : Also, in order to have access I'd have to purchase a ship? The cheapest one which includes early access is 40 bucks. :eek:

The game is scheduled for release in 2015, however I expect that to be delayed to late 2015/early 2016 and mid 2016 at the latest.

Also, yes a ship costs 40, however that gives you a game. Everything you can buy now is accessible in game and once the game is released they wil not be selling ships anymore. Once the game is released it will sell for $60, so you can back now, get a starting ship, early access to the game, and the game itself all for $20 less than the game will be upon release. Not a bad deal if it is something you honestly might consider buying.

If you are dead set on playing the game but are perplexed which ship you're buying and are thinking ahead of time on how each ship will affect how you play the game consult this chart

Huh, very helpful, I'll probably go for the Aegis Avenger, or maybe the MISC freelancer once I have the money to spend. I'd love to have a huge ship, though. This game will host the most epic game nights, and by game nights, I mean every waking moment that we all have to spare.

I also have one, so I think we have a strong constellation fleet starting now. All we have left is to do is find people to crew them now.

Well, I was thinking of getting something simple like the Origin 300i (Since it's only $5 more than what the game would be anyway) and I wouldn't mind being a gunner myself.

Well, that's a good start and you can always be an escort too. And for anyone stuck as a gunner, there is always the merlin you can hop in and use, although I am thinking about keeping mine for exploration only since we'll probably be in groups quite frequently.
 
O i fully plan on buying more ships and if the game doesn't come out until 2015/2016 like i suspect as well then i plan on getting other packages as they come out. there are several ships due out way before release that are not out right now.

This is true, although they won't sell all the ships they're putting in game. Keep in mind they are desiging between 50-60 ships for the game atm and only a handful of those will be available in store. I personally can't wait for the mustang to come out as I bought an extra aurora to change into a mustang specifically to transfer the lti.

I have invested more into this game than anything else, and I don't mind nor have any plans to stop. More than just the game, I love what these guys stand for and what they're doing for the PC market and gamin industry. That's what I am backing.
 
I don't know if this video has been posted but it really sold me on Star citizen so i figured i'd post it and anyone who has doubts or hasn't seen it may want to watch it. It really does tell you alot about the game. It is worth noting that since this video was made Star Citizen has surpassed 40 million dollars raised so far.
 
I'd love it if someone could keep track of the ships that everyone has bought on one post. It'd be nice to see the entire T9k Fleet. For me personally, knowing what others here are getting may help me decide what I get, I might get steer away from a ship that everyone else has just so I can be more useful to our fleet as a whole.

Anyways, I may start another thread or maybe a blog to keep track of ships if Mcfar45 or someone else doesn't. Tell me what you guys think.
