I'll take the 'Doof Challenge any day.
And since it looks like we now have 9 potential Gym Leaders, how is the seeding for those leaders going to work? My first thought is a process like the World Cup group stage:
1. Everyone battles each other once (that would be 8 battles each, right now);
2. Wins earn points, losses do not.
3. Tie breaker comes down to number of remaining Pokemon after each battle (in aggregate);
4. For example: if I win 6 of 8 battles, I earn 6x points for the wins and rank higher than anyone <6x, and lower than anyone >6x. If another Leader also has 6x points, it comes to differential. If I won each of my battles on my last Pokemon, my differential would be +6. If the other leader won 5 battles on her/his last Pokemon and the 6th battle with 2 remaining, her/his differential would be +7 and would rank higher than me but lower than anyone >6x.
Just a suggestion. I've been thinking about this a lot, if that isn't immediately apparent. And I'm happy to volunteer to take on folks who want to try strategies or just battle for fun.
